EMCOR Government Services is in search of a qualified HVAC Service Technician to carry out maintenance and repair tasks related to intricate heating and cooling systems along with their control mechanisms. The HVAC Service Technician will fulfill their duties in alignment with the company's policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Engage with systems that necessitate technical expertise in rooftop HVAC units, heat pumps, DX systems, and both pneumatic and electrical controls for commercial and industrial cooling systems.
- Identify the reasons for equipment failures, utilize appropriate instruments for testing components, disassemble and reassemble parts, and execute necessary repairs on equipment and related components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections as outlined in maintenance agreements while adhering strictly to budgetary constraints.
- Receive clear instructions from the Service Coordinator regarding specific tasks and assist in scheduling inspections based on location, labor requirements, priorities, customer coordination, and material procurement.
- Ensure prompt execution of maintenance inspections.
- Adhere to proper procedures for departure and arrival throughout the workday.
- Maintain a tidy, professional appearance concerning personal and company service vehicles and tools.
- Acquire purchase orders and make minor purchases needed during work, including maintaining adequate standard truck inventory and conducting inventory checks as required.
- Consistently comply with company policies and procedures regarding the accurate completion of departmental documentation such as time records, work orders, refrigerant accountability logs, and returns of materials and equipment.
- Keep the Service Coordinator updated on their location and activities at all times.
- Participate in regular meetings with supervisors to discuss work progress and any challenges that may exceed their authority or capability.
- Maintain strict compliance with all company safety regulations and attend mandatory safety meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 5 years of experience in servicing, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Comprehensive understanding of the HVAC service sector.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to work with and comprehend the refrigeration cycle.
- Knowledge of current BOCA Code and OSHA safety standards.
- Capability to manage and execute multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to maintain urgency while remaining composed during emergencies.
- Possession of EPA-approved CFC Certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
