We are on the lookout for a skilled individual who can collaborate closely with our external sales team to surpass customer expectations and contribute to our business expansion. As the exclusive manufacturer's representative for Vertiv, a leader in IT and computer room solutions, ITS is dedicated to delivering high-quality offerings that ensure our clients' IT environments remain operational and efficient. Our portfolio encompasses thermal and power systems for both data centers and edge locations, as well as management and monitoring solutions, integrated systems, and ancillary products and services.

Key Responsibilities of the Sales Support Engineer:

  • Foster and maintain relationships with both new and existing customers and partners of ITS.
  • Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the products and services offered by ITS.
  • Generate and oversee sales opportunities within our CRM system throughout the sales cycle.
  • Assist the external sales team with equipment layouts, project plan assessments, proposals, and submission drawings.
  • Gain insights into calculated airflow and cooling capacities of HVAC units under specified conditions, along with electrical requirements as outlined by consulting engineers.
  • Provide guidance to end-users, contractors, consulting engineers, and IT partners regarding critical infrastructure equipment selections across all product lines.
  • Address customer inquiries and objections effectively to facilitate the progression of opportunities through the sales pipeline.
  • Execute detailed equipment orders based on project documentation, including engineered drawings and specifications.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Communicate project expectations and timelines clearly and confidently to customers, vendors, and external sales personnel.
  • Coordinate site visits and project meetings with customers, partners, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Conduct scope reviews and pre-installation meetings with customers and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and award projects based on comprehensive scopes of work.
  • Assist with administrative and organizational tasks, including the creation and updating of project spreadsheets.
  • Establish, maintain, and organize project documentation.
  • Coordinate the shipping and delivery of equipment with customers.
  • Collaborate with external sales personnel to approve invoices and manage change orders for ongoing projects.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution; a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management is preferred.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach to completing work tasks.
  • Possess a customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the data center industry is advantageous but not mandatory.
