We are seeking a skilled Welding Engineer to join our team at Hitchcock Industries, Inc. DBA CPP-Minneapolis. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing and maintaining welding processes on various items and equipment, ensuring the effectiveness, consistency, safety, and quality compliance of the operations welding team's production.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor the effectiveness and consistency of each production welder and conduct training as required.
- Collaborate with other departments and operators to ensure the first-time success of all casting repair welds and support other personnel in completing their work activities.
- Develop advanced casting welding techniques across various alloys, including alternate welding technologies and automated welding solutions, to advance CPP's welding capabilities and effectiveness.
- Acquire additional certifications and credentials as required for work or career development.
- BS in Welding Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of practical experience.
- Hands-on welding experience, with GTAW (TIG) welding experience mandatory and GMAW (MIG) welding experience preferred.
- Aerospace welding and qualification, with experience translating customer and industry requirements into practical and understandable procedures and work instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret customer and industry specifications, engineering drawings.
- Experience with GTAW (TIG) welding alloys with aluminum, magnesium, nickel, and titanium bases.
- Experience in welding of castings, with excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective data analysis skills, with minimum 6 Sigma Green Belt training or equivalent.
- Automated welding experience, with familiarity with NDT inspection technologies: X-ray, FPI, visual, ultrasonic wall thickness measurement.
This is a full-time position that requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.
