Key Responsibilities
  • Explain the Room Service menu to patients, qualify them as full Room Service, Assist, or Non-Select, and deliver patient meal trays and unit supplies.
  • Follow HACCP principles and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Accurately manage position paperwork, including tray delivery forms, Missed Meal Report, refrigerator and freezer temperature monitoring forms, etc.
  • Follow correct hand hygiene procedures and utilize appropriate scripting to respond to patients and internal/external customers.
  • Effectively and safely use position equipment, performing applicable cleaning/sanitation procedures.
  • Ensure meal selections are in accordance with patient's diet order to optimize patient experience.
  • Prioritize patient needs and manage meal delivery to get trays to patients as quickly as possible.
  • Orient patients to the room service ordering process, accurately qualify patients, and communicate with the Call Center.
Requirements
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to push and pull wheeled carts.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to tolerate frequent temperature changes working with and around equipment that generates heat, steam, and cold.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Food service or customer service experience.
