Chief Nursing Officer

Description:
Exalt Health, an acute rehabilitation hospital, provides an intensive rehabilitation program, and admitted patients must be able to tolerate three hours of intense rehabilitation services per day.
Focused on caring for patients with complex rehabilitative needs such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, head trauma, medically debilitated conditions, neurological disorders, cardio-pulmonary amputations, orthopedic injuries, and multiple major traumas.
Position Summary:
As the Chief Nursing Officer, you will hold a vital role responsible for leading and elevating the clinical excellence of our inpatient rehabilitation hospital, ensuring we deliver the highest-quality care to our patients recovering from various conditions.
You will be a strategic partner to the CEO, providing clinical expertise and leadership across all aspects of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care: assessing patient needs, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Supervising and mentoring nursing staff: assigning tasks, providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures
- Ensuring quality and safety: monitoring patient outcomes, identifying and addressing potential risks, and contributing to the continuous improvement of quality care practices
- Promoting patient-centered care: fostering a positive and respectful environment for patients and their families, ensuring effective communication, and advocating for patient needs
- Participating in unit operations: preparing schedules, managing budgets, and collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient patient care flow
- Clinical Leadership: providing visionary leadership to the clinical team, including therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
- Quality & Outcomes: developing and implementing strategies to continuously improve clinical quality and patient outcomes and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
- Program Development and Innovation: leading the development and implementation of new and innovative rehabilitation programs to meet the evolving needs of our patient population
- Physician Relations: building strong and collaborative relationships with referring physicians and specialists, ensuring they understand our capabilities and value proposition
- Clinical Education: fostering an environment of education, promoting evidence-based practices, and staying current with the latest advancements in rehabilitation medicine
- Metrics and Analytics: developing and implementing systems to measure clinical performance, track outcomes, and utilize data to drive quality improvement initiatives
- Human Resources Leadership: guiding human resources strategies for the clinical team, focusing on recruitment, retention, and professional development of top talent
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Licenses or Certifications:
Current, unencumbered license to practice professional nursing in the state where currently practicing (RN)
Current BLS is required via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Current ACLS required via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred
Current Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred
Education, Training, and Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field, unless a higher degree is mandated by state regulations
3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience required
Previous hospital supervisory experience is required
Proven track record of leading and improving clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency
Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation medicine
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
Passion for patient-centered care and a commitment to rehabilitation services
Salary: $90,000 to $125,000 based on experience
