Role Summary: The Purchasing Manager will take charge of all procurement processes, ensuring the efficient and economical acquisition of materials, services, and equipment essential for our construction initiatives. This position will also entail overseeing another team member, offering direction and support to facilitate the effective functioning of the purchasing division.

Main Duties:

  • Formulate and execute procurement strategies to guarantee timely acquisition of materials and services.
  • Engage in contract negotiations and pricing discussions with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain optimal terms.
  • Track inventory levels and collaborate with project managers to anticipate future requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships, assessing performance and ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Review and process purchase orders, confirming accuracy and compliance with budgetary limits.
  • Work alongside the finance team to monitor spending and prepare financial analyses.
  • Guide and mentor a purchasing assistant, providing necessary training and support.
  • Stay informed about market trends and industry changes to make knowledgeable procurement choices.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and company policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement within the construction or home building sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and supplier management.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Detail-oriented with robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
