Job Overview

As an Assistant Branch Manager at Mutual Security Credit Union, you will play a vital role in leading the Member Service team to achieve exceptional service, sales, and operational goals. Your leadership and motivation will ensure the team's success, while your attention to detail will maintain the security and accountability of all cash and negotiable items.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Embody the credit union's values of Integrity, Empowerment, Respect, and Commitment to foster a positive work environment and promote professional growth.
  2. Supervise and own daily operations and sales activities, ensuring the team meets targets and provides world-class customer experience.
  3. Train, coach, and develop the Member Service staff, providing input for performance evaluations and identifying areas for improvement.
  4. Proactively source, acquire, expand, and retain customer relationships, maximizing sales opportunities and promoting credit union products and services.
  5. Effectively model, train, support, and coach staff to ensure sales and service targets are met, and sales goal targets are reached.
  6. Stay up-to-date with product, policy, and procedural knowledge, providing accurate answers to staff questions and resolving account discrepancies.
  7. Maintain vault cash and negotiable items, ensuring adequate supplies and balancing end-of-day work.
  8. Process payroll deductions, certificates, and IRAs, and maintain accurate records.
  9. Supervise status changes on member accounts, promote continuing education, and escalate equipment, staff, or member problems as needed.
  10. Adhere to federal, state, and local laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Uniform Commercial Code, and National Credit Union Administration regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant training and experience.
  • Three years of experience as a MSR or teller in a credit union, financial institution, or cash handling function, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills, leadership, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively sell products and services, with proven judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and good mathematical skills.
  • Proficient in computer skills and operation of general office machines, with a willingness to travel to other credit union branches as needed.

Physical and Mental Abilities:

  • Full-time hours required, with additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
  • Sitting the majority of the time, with occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, maintain accuracy, and effectively interact with all personality types in stressful situations.
