Job Overview

Quality Support Services is seeking a part-time Baggage System Operations Coordinator. This role involves overseeing the efficient operation of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) Control Room. The compensation for this position is $18.56 per hour, with a commitment of two OVERNIGHT shifts weekly, totaling 16 hours.


The primary responsibility of the BHS Operations Coordinator is to continuously monitor the operational status of the baggage handling systems and promptly notify relevant personnel, including Jam Runners, Technicians, and the Contract Manager, regarding any issues that arise. A solid understanding of the system layout and control functionalities is essential for effectively managing baggage flow during operations and directing response teams to incidents.


Additionally, the BHS Operations Coordinator may assist the Contract Manager in generating reports and conducting trend analyses, provided that these tasks do not interfere with the primary responsibility of system monitoring.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the balance of baggage flow on conveyor lines
  • Track laser array performance metrics
  • Review statistical reports
  • Assign make-up tasks as needed
  • Acquire, modify, and upload flight schedules
  • Address operational inquiries, complaints, and challenges
  • Make informed decisions regarding BHS operations
  • Collaborate directly with airlines, airport authorities, and security agencies
  • Facilitate smooth daily operations by adhering to startup checklists and protocols
  • Manage the BHS Control Room and monitor the BHS using the Management Information System and Maintenance Diagnostics System during operational hours.

Qualifications: A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role with comparable system complexity is required.

Note: Candidates must successfully pass a TSA background check and ongoing drug screening.
