Job Overview

Position Summary:

A Registered Nurse dedicated to assisting the Director of Nursing and the Executive Director in overseeing hospice services provided to patients in their residences, adhering to physician directives, and striving to deliver the highest standard of care. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that skilled nursing and therapeutic services are delivered under their guidance and is available during operational hours to participate in all professional service activities, including personnel qualifications and assignments.

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing or therapy program and current licensure in the practicing state.
  • Preferred three to five years of nursing or therapy experience.
  • Preferred one year of experience in hospice nursing or therapy.
  • Alignment with the agency's philosophy and objectives.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and independent judgment.
  • Capability to collaborate with diverse individuals to achieve shared goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to established agency policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of standards ensuring safe and effective patient services.
  • Supervise, mentor, and enhance nursing skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with leadership to determine staffing patterns that meet objectives and optimize health personnel utilization.
  • Assist in recruiting, evaluating, and managing nursing staff, including disciplinary actions.
  • Facilitate the orientation of new patient care personnel.
  • Support the planning and consultative needs of the staff.
  • Help develop and implement policies that comply with regulatory standards.
  • Promote interdisciplinary team service coordination.
  • Engage in community education initiatives and research as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and safeguard patient information.
  • Attend relevant continuing education programs and share insights with the team.

Work Environment:

Primarily indoors in an office setting, with occasional patient care responsibilities in home environments.

Job Relationships:

Supervised by the Director of Nursing, overseeing nursing staff, hospice aides, and other support personnel.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to engage in physical activities, including moderate lifting and extended periods of standing.
