About the Role

The Cato Institute is searching for a dedicated scholar to join our team and contribute to our mission of promoting libertarian principles through rigorous research and analysis. As a member of our social welfare policy team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the conversation around poverty and welfare reform.

Duties

  • Analyze and evaluate social welfare policies and programs.
  • Develop and propose recommendations for improving or eliminating ineffective welfare programs.
  • Conduct research and gather data to support policy initiatives.
  • Engage with policymakers, media representatives, and the public to promote evidence-based policy solutions.
  • Assist in organizing events and workshops related to social welfare policy.

Desired Qualifications

  • A strong background in economics, social sciences, or law.
  • Experience working in think tanks, academia, or government agencies.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis software.

Benefits and Salary

$90,000 - $130,000 per year based on experience.
