Education Liaison

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a School Liaison. This role will be responsible for overseeing the management of educational services between schools, group homes, foster parents, case managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the educational needs of our youth are being met.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement policies and procedures to determine the educational needs of individual foster and group home youth.
- Provide educational case management, tutoring, and mentoring services to youth.
- Act as a liaison between district superintendents, school personnel, county schools, group home providers, foster parents, and youth to ensure timely admissions, transitions, and discharges to/from schools.
- Develop and implement college coaches and other supports to facilitate post-secondary recruitment, admission, financial aid, and academic support for older and former foster youth.
- Provide leadership to Education and other agency partners to facilitate collaboration, subcontracting, and community partnerships to ensure outcomes for youth.
- Consult on issues related to education, special education, educational due process, and programs and services offered in alternative education.
- Design and implement multiagency training to ensure that services conform to county, state, and federal guidelines.
- Assist in developing information for newsletters, brochures, webpages, and other materials for youth about educational options and related issues.
- Collect data and prepare documents and reports for program evaluation.
- Plan and implement training for foster placement staff and other professionals that serve the youth.
- Participate in agency strategic plan and quality improvement processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Prior program/administrative support experience preferred.
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office and related applications.
- Prior experience using standard office equipment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule with regular business hours set by FACT.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Timely and responsive communication with others.
- Effective teamwork skills with the ability to work independently as required.
- Licensed by the State of Michigan in their relative field as either limited or full license is required.
- Satisfaction of all employment eligibility and Agency hiring requirements.
