Job Summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. As a Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care to assigned patients in the Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, and Women and Infants divisions.

You will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.

This is a full-time position, with a schedule of 7A-7P or 7P-7A with rotating weekends as needed. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient progress.

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to assigned patients in the Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, and Women and Infants divisions
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Implement care plans, including medical orders and interdisciplinary approaches
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans as needed
  • Provide effective patient and family education and discharge planning
  • Administer medications and provide drug information to patients and families
  • Act as a resource and support for other team members
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate's degree in Nursing
  • Current valid RN license
  • Two years of RN experience in the respective field
  • Flexibility with work schedule, including weekends
  • Excellent charge/leadership skills and basic computer skills
