Job Summary

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team in the Float Pool, Medical/Surgical and Critical Care units. As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform patient care tasks and duties that do not require a license, working under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses. This is a full-time position with a variety of shifts available, including days, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient report and communicate with R.N. regarding patient care and changes in condition
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
  • Transport patients to other areas of the hospital as directed
  • Carry out the Plan of Care for Patient using a Multidisciplinary Approach as Delegated by Team Leader
  • Communicate effectively with other team members to facilitate patient care
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1 year of patient care experience in an acute care setting
  • Ability to lift 100 lbs. to waist height
