We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will be responsible for operating angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, assisting with interventional and surgical procedures, and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Operate angiographic equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including biopsies, vascular stenting, and embolization.
- Assist with interventional and surgical procedures, receiving direction from attending and resident physicians.
- Monitor patients and alert staff to life-threatening changes in patient status.
- Apply the defibrillator and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
- Identify and process images, ensuring diagnostic quality.
- Assist with emergency procedures, responding quickly and effectively.
- Compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
- Post-process images, accurately identifying and labeling patient information.
- Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
- Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
- Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months (unless department leader determines it is not required).
- Previous experience in interventional radiology or a related field.
- Intermediate computer skills.
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. The incumbent must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. The position may be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, requiring the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.
