Knowledge of drug dosages, administration rules, and dosage forms is required. Familiarity with packaging, labeling procedures, aseptic compounding, and parenteral admixture operations is also necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for:

  • Performing technical functions in drug preparation and distribution.
  • Ensuring all medications and supplies are stored correctly and are in-date.
  • Assisting the Pharmacist with the ordering and receiving of IV fluids and supplies.
  • Documenting cleaning procedures of the IV suite and hoods according to established guidelines.
  • Complying with all HIPAA regulations and other duties as permitted by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Maintaining good physical health is essential, as the role may involve lifting up to forty pounds, walking, standing, bending, and pushing carts. The position also demands considerable mental focus and the ability to adjust work speed based on workload, with regular interruptions from nursing and pharmacy staff.
