Position Summary:
The Clinical Service Nurse II at Duke University Hospital will be responsible for providing triage support and care coordination for a high-acuity pediatric patient population. This role requires collaboration with dynamic multidisciplinary teams and close interaction with the faculty directors of the Pediatric Complex Care Team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage triage calls, resolving issues within scope and coordinating follow-up with healthcare providers.
- Attend outpatient clinics as necessary and document communications in Maestrocare.
- Handle pages from external clinics and patient families during daytime hours.
- Facilitate prior authorizations and draft letters of medical necessity.
- Coordinate the renewal of outpatient prescriptions and assist with inpatient rounds as needed.

What to Expect:
In this role, you will multitask by documenting assessments, planning care, and evaluating patient status. You will also educate patients and families according to the nursing plan of care while managing relationships with patients, families, visitors, and the healthcare team.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) or an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required. A minimum of twelve months of relevant clinical experience is necessary.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience in Pediatric Nursing, particularly in neurology, and familiarity with telephone triage or managed care coordination are preferred. Strong communication skills and good organizational abilities are essential.

Licensure and Certification:
Current registration with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or current compact RN licensure to practice in North Carolina is required. BLS Certification is also mandatory.
