Division Chief/Director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Anesthesiologist to serve as the Division Chief/Director of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota Physicians. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a team of talented professionals and contribute to the advancement of cardiothoracic anesthesiology.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and vision for the Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology, overseeing the development and implementation of clinical and educational programs, and collaborating with other departments to advance the field of cardiothoracic anesthesiology.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and vision for the Division of Cardiac Anesthesiology
  • Oversee the development and implementation of clinical and educational programs
  • Collaborate with other departments to advance the field of cardiothoracic anesthesiology
  • Recruit and mentor faculty members
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Completion of an accredited ACGME Anesthesiology residency
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology
  • Board certification in Cardiac Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology
  • Training in Critical Care Medicine is desired but not required
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Advanced Certification in Echocardiography
  • A track record of original research and publications
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in team leadership and the mentorship of younger faculty
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in resident and fellow education
  • Eligible for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level
