Senior Claim Executive

IMA Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Claim Executive to join our team. This role is responsible for advocating for and interacting with clients on claim resolutions and matters. A successful applicant must have strong relationship-building and management skills, possess self-direction, and have effective problem-solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a proactive approach, focusing on claim resolutions and strategies
  • Communicate pertinent claim information timely to internal and external clients
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Participate in presentations, including new business, RFPs (clients, TPAs), claim reviews, and renewals
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of IMA and carrier computer systems/programs
  • Assist the Claims Manager with claim staff management, including training and development
  • Develop and expand relationships at local, regional, and national levels with carriers, TPAs, Legal Resources, and Experts
  • Expand knowledge and expertise in all lines of coverage
  • Assist on claims projects, reports, loss runs, or other tasks as assigned
  • Attend insurance-related seminars, including continuing education classes
  • Direct the activities of the Workers' Compensation Care Coordinator team members in the processing, monitoring, management, and advocacy of claims
  • Manage associates, including performance reviews, hiring and placement, resolving customer complaints, and salary and budget planning
  • Review and assign claims and/or accounts to appropriate staff to ensure aggressive processing, adjustment, and management for the client
  • Contribute to the hiring and development of staff members and identifies areas for improvement or growth
  • Perform functions of the role within an IMA office 0-50% of the time
  • Support and demonstrate IMA's core values

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree
  • Systems skills - Applied Epic, Carrier websites strongly preferred
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Exceptional technical skill and knowledge of coverage and claims handling
  • Moderate travel required (25-50%)
  • Prefer college graduate or prior claims or general insurance experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Required: Strong mathematical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers
