About the Role

We are seeking a senior project accountant to join our team who is looking to support our clientele and subcontractor network. As a highly reputable firm in the industry, we focus on commercial construction projects and would like someone with vertical commercial project accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all financial operations of construction projects from start to finish.
  • Implement and manage project collections and sales tax reporting processes.
  • Manage Procore invoicing and ensure all invoices are accurate and timely.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to ensure all transactions are processed accurately and on time.
  • Develop and implement effective project accounting and reporting systems.
  • Prepare financial reports, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to construction accounting.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other key stakeholders to optimize financial performance and strategic positioning.
  • Identify and manage financial risks and opportunities.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred, Masters Degree or CPA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project invoicing (procore experience preferred), project collections, sales tax reporting, and AP/AR oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • A strong understanding of construction industry regulations and standards.
