Field Service Technician

Join our dynamic team at Blue Collar Services as a skilled Field Service Technician. We are looking for an individual with 1 to 2 years of relevant experience to assist in the deployment of electronic control systems for our valued clients. This role encompasses not only the installation but also the maintenance of various security solutions, including access control systems, surveillance cameras, intrusion detection systems, and communication networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute installations and servicing of security systems utilizing detailed installation guides and schematics.
- Conduct essential installations and services, which may include running electrical wiring, drilling, and trenching.
- Connect control panels, install necessary software, and ensure all application requirements are fulfilled.
- Perform site evaluations and review work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to confirm material needs and installation protocols.
- Carry out routine maintenance on installed systems.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and effectively resolve technical issues.
- Provide training to clients on the operation and navigation of software and equipment.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all tasks performed and equipment utilized, adhering to established guidelines.
- Collaborate with Operations staff and fellow technicians while fostering strong relationships with clients.
- Build and sustain positive rapport with customers.
- Complete daily project reports.
- Stay updated on new products and industry developments.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Oversee a technician crew and job site when necessary.
- Ensure client privacy and confidentiality is maintained.
Qualifications:
- Clean background check.
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks for industry licensing and security clearance.
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings as mandated by law.
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and potential overnight travel.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain necessary state licensing upon hiring.
- Solid understanding of electronics.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks while paying attention to detail.
- Dedication to thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management, planning, and proactive thinking abilities.
- Outstanding communication and listening skills.
- Self-motivated with the capability to work independently.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair various electronic components, including networking equipment and CCTV systems.
- Proficient in using hand tools and equipment required for all tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and related documents.
- Present a professional image in both personal and vehicle appearance.
- Maintain a professional demeanor with clients and colleagues.
- Capable of climbing ladders and operating lifts as required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Preferred Experience:
- Security installation (with LSFMA Security Endorsement).
- Experience in fire alarm or life safety fields.
- Electrician apprentice experience (90v +).
- Background in network administration (training for CCNA, MCSE, etc. is a plus).
- Experience in electronics fields related to access control and camera installation.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: Starting at $18.00 per hour
