COTSWORKS is looking for a dedicated Procurement Specialist to enhance our expanding Mil/Aero sector, focusing on our in-house designed and manufactured optoelectronic solutions.

The Procurement Specialist will play a vital role in acquiring goods, materials, and services essential for the operational needs of the company. This position requires sound judgment in evaluating price, quality, and delivery to ensure a seamless supply chain aligned with MRP requirements. This full-time, salaried role reports directly to the Director of Operations and is based at our Cleveland-area facility. Due to the nature of our work, candidates must be U.S. citizens (No Green card or Visa) to be considered for employment at COTSWORKS, INC.

We specialize in designing and manufacturing robust optical components and subsystems capable of functioning in extreme environments. Our products serve a diverse range of industries, including commercial and military aerospace, tactical applications, oil and gas, and various industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate purchase orders and procure goods, materials, components, or services in accordance with established cost, quality, and delivery standards.
  • Identify and assess opportunities to reduce costs or discover alternative sources for goods and materials.
  • Utilize negotiation techniques and procurement best practices to secure favorable contracts.
  • Conduct research and evaluate both existing and potential suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of necessary goods and materials.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to facilitate effective communication.
  • Negotiate improved pricing and terms with suppliers while identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with contracts and manage initiatives for performance enhancement to address issues related to price, quality, delivery, or invoicing.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management is preferred, or equivalent education or experience is required.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in purchasing, planning, and inventory management.
  • Experience in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment is preferred.
  • Experience in an electronics-related field is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with MPS/ERP systems is essential.
  • Proficient in standard office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Suite).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret bills of materials.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills, capable of handling competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the capacity to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
