Job Summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Description

This position performs radiography (x-ray) examinations to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. You will be responsible for preparing patients for exams, obtaining and recording vital signs, explaining procedures, and ensuring technical quality of images.

Responsibilities
  • Performs radiography exams on patients, ensuring compliance with radiation safety procedures.
  • Enters and monitors patient data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Performs quality assurance on radiology equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • May assist with initial and renewal applications for ACR and other accreditation.
  • Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management.
  • Takes emergency calls within the department, may be required to work weekends and float to other locations as needed.
  • May administer breath alcohol tests and/or urine drug screens.
  • May be required to perform patient registration tasks, such as verifying insurance and collecting payments.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency.
  • Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support.
  • Current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT).
  • Registered Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
