Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic radiology procedures, including X-ray and fluoroscopy exams, to help diagnose and treat patients.
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic and special X-ray procedures, providing direct assistance and support as needed.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care, adhering to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to provide comprehensive care, actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information and data.
  • Use peer-to-peer accountability to achieve department goals for retention and employee engagement.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below in the Certifications, Licenses and Registrations section.
  • ARRT-R - Radiologic Technologist - Radiographer (ARRT) AND CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - State Licensure -- If new graduate, must obtain their Texas Medical Board license within 90 days of hire/transfer date OR CMRT-Temp - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Temporary State Licensure AND BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
Work Environment

This position is located at Houston Methodist Hospital, a full-service, acute-care hospital located in the Texas Medical Center.
