Job Title: Advanced Child Protection Practitioner

Role Overview

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing is seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Child Protection Practitioner to join our team. As an effective practitioner, you will be responsible for receiving and assessing reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people, undertaking investigations, and developing plans to ensure their safety, stability, and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Critical Assessment and Reflection
    • Engage in risk assessment and analysis, case management, reporting, and reflective practice.
  • Engaging Others
    • Engage with children, their families, and support networks, collaborating with other practitioners and services, and sharing knowledge.
  • Delivering Results
    • Problem solve, make informed practice decisions, deliver improvements, and manage budgets to achieve best outcomes.
  • Leading and Inspiring
    • Provide practice leadership to families and stakeholders, lead and develop colleagues, and work to improve existing systems in the DFFH.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess an understanding of Aboriginal culture and demonstrate an understanding of the legislative, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities. You will also require a valid driver's license and a willingness to travel, including in country regions.
