Job Summary

The Dining Room Server is a key member of our hospitality team, responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests in the dining room. This role requires a strong understanding of our menu and beverage offerings, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner, adhering to our high standards of service.
  • Protect the establishment and guests by maintaining a clean and safe environment, and adhering to our policies on sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control.
  • Comply with responsible alcohol service guidelines, including serving guests responsibly and in accordance with our policies.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our menu ingredients and preparations, and be able to communicate this knowledge to guests.
  • Operate our point of sales system with proficiency, and maintain accurate records of guest transactions.
  • Maintain effective communication with management and fellow team members, and demonstrate a positive and respectful attitude in all interactions.
  • Provide exceptional guest service, including greeting guests warmly, serving food and beverages efficiently, and resolving any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare the dining room for service by completing all necessary side work, and maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the shift.
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in a la carte service in a food and beverage operation, country club, or full-service restaurant.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a strong focus on providing exceptional guest experiences.
  • Registered Borough of Red Bank ABC card, and ability to comply with responsible alcohol service guidelines.
  • Ability to multitask and work well in a high-volume environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Dependable team player with a successful record of work attendance, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively, with a strong focus on resolving guest concerns in a tactful and caring manner.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends, and ability to respond to visual and auditory cues.
  • Basic math skills to accurately process guest transactions, and previous experience working in the food-service industry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, reach above shoulders, kneel, twist, and grip items.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to respond to visual and auditory cues (telephone).
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing an average of 25-50 pounds.
  • Ability to extend arms overhead to perform various technical tasks, and work in confined spaces, under varying temperature extremes.

Compensation: $6.00 per hour + tips
