Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout the year, nurturing robust client relationships and possessing a comprehensive understanding of their business and control systems.
  • Act as the engagement partner or report directly to the engagement partner in line with firm policies.
  • Sign attest opinions as a representative of the firm when designated as the engagement partner.
  • Oversee all stages of audit, review, or accounting engagements, ensuring client deliverables adhere to relevant accounting frameworks and firm policies.
  • Keep the engagement partner informed of significant developments on client accounts, identifying and implementing solutions after partner consultation.
  • Exhibit proficiency in essential technical skills to provide effective client advisement.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of engagements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in your discipline or industry, with a focus on not-for-profit organizations, unions, and benefit plans.
  • Supervise staff assigned to engagements, offering on-the-job training and reviewing work papers and reports.
  • Play a vital role in staff performance evaluations, reviews, and mentoring.
  • Participate in the recruitment of staff and conduct interviews for Assurance and Advisory candidates as necessary.
  • Represent the firm in business development initiatives, cultivating a network of contacts and referrals to generate business.
  • Lead prospective client engagements, responsible for initial communications, generating fee estimates, and attending meetings.
  • Uphold a firm-first, united philosophy.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the partner group.
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in public accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior manager role.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Current and valid CPA license.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business for a CPA firm.
  • Proven project management and time management capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States, United States Generally Accepted Auditing Standards, and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards.
  • Ability to direct, review, and train departmental staff.
  • Willingness to travel for work at clients' offices, meetings, and seminars, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime throughout the year, with significant overtime expected during peak periods.
