Area Manager

The Area Manager is a key leadership position at J. Jill, responsible for supporting a District Manager by leading a designated group of stores within the district, while also managing their home store. This role requires a strong business acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a customer-obsessed mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sales Generation and Performance: Ensure the home store achieves sales and productivity goals, and support area stores in achieving sales and productivity goals through peer coaching and guidance.
• Talent Development: Identify and recruit management talent to support J. Jill culture, goals, and objectives, and maintain bench strength to ensure all positions are filled in a timely manner.
• Visual Merchandising: Ensure that store management effectively plan, schedule, and execute floor sets and ongoing re-merchandising of stores, and hold team accountable for excellent visual standards and continual replenishment of the sales floor.
• Operational Excellence: Coach and direct store management to create optimal weekly work schedules to drive sales and support customer selling and service, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and federal, state, and local employment laws.
Requirements:
• 4+ years in women's specialty retail management, with 2+ years of success in a Store Manager position.
• College degree preferred, with a strong business acumen and excellent leadership skills.
• Point of Sale and office software technical experience, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to travel as needed, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
