Quality Assurance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at O-AT-KA. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products, as well as maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a Plant Quality Plan, including defined roles and responsibilities for the quality function.
- Assume the responsibility of facility SQF Practitioner, maintaining SQF Level 3 certification and managing continuous improvement programs.
- Continually review and audit manufacturing procedures to ensure compliance with established practices and procedures.
- Ensure the facility is in compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements, representing the facility during inspections and audits with customers and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain, update, and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines through coordination with Plant Management and Corporate Quality Assurance.
- Establish and validate all sanitation practices, performing periodic audits to ensure compliance.
- Review and maintain all product specifications, establishing systems for controlling and documenting release, holds, and disposition of all products manufactured at the facility.
- Provide overall leadership for the facility laboratory, working closely with Laboratory Associates and Lab Supervisor to ensure all personnel are appropriately trained and supervised.
- Work with Production Associates to establish procedures for quality assessments of incoming goods and raw materials, working with Purchasing personnel to establish and enforce quality standards and specifications on such goods with vendors.
- Establish and continually monitor the effectiveness of training programs for Operations and Quality personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Food, Dairy, or Natural Sciences, with five to seven years of related experience and/or training.
- Active involvement in Quality Programs in the Food and Beverage industry, with knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems, HACCP, and statistical process control.
- Previous supervisory experience and strong personal computer skills are preferred.
The employee will be frequently required to speak or hear, and occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
