Job Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficiency and profitability in alignment with the established budget. Uphold exceptional standards of quality and professionalism consistently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (Includes, but is not limited to the following.)
  1. Guide, mentor, and enhance the skills of kitchen staff;
  2. Assess production and quality standards of all food items, both incoming and outgoing;
  3. Ensure a sanitary environment through proper use, maintenance, and cleaning of all kitchen equipment and products;
  4. Foster open communication with team members and management on a daily basis;
  5. Support the Executive Chefs and other culinary team members as required;
  6. Design and implement continuous training programs focused on sanitation and safety;
  7. Execute all tasks and responsibilities in a timely manner;
  8. Maintain a professional appearance, including uniform and identification;
  9. Adhere to the policies and procedures of Caesars Entertainment;
  10. Exhibit regular and predictable attendance;
  11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication in English; ability to follow established policies and procedures; capable of supervising and instructing others; skilled in problem-solving and making independent decisions. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and guests. Knowledge of equipment use, cleaning, and maintenance is essential. Maintain high standards of sanitation and safety. Comprehensive understanding of all culinary departments is required. Consistently demonstrate professionalism.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years cooking experience with some supervisory responsibilities.

Certificate/License: None required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work may be conducted in confined spaces with limited access. Conditions may vary in terms of noise, temperature, lighting, air quality, and potential exposure to fumes/odors. Tasks may involve working alone or in teams, with both verbal and face-to-face interactions. Shift work and extended hours may be necessary. Knowledge of chemicals, mechanical equipment, and heat-generating devices is required.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: (May be necessary to perform essential functions of the position). The role requires mobility, including occasional sitting, reaching, bending, and balancing. Frequent standing and repetitive use of hands are necessary, along with visual acuity and manual dexterity. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols, perform clerical tasks, and engage in complex tasks such as reading, writing, and math is essential. Must be able to work with precision, follow instructions, and demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making skills.
