Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled RN Clinical Coordinator to join our team at Ascension St. John Medical Center. As a key member of our Case Management department, you will play a critical role in coordinating a centralized bed management system to facilitate efficient admissions and transfers, optimize occupancy, and avoid delays in service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate with clinical staff to determine the status of pending discharges, transfers, and bed availability, and plan bed assignments accordingly.
  • Review all admissions and transfers for clinical/unit appropriateness and medical necessity, taking appropriate action when criteria are not met or resources are not available.
  • Provide direction and support to admissions coordinators to ensure efficient patient access and flow.
  • Analyze bed management data, identify issues, and potential resolutions, and prepare reports for executive review.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Registered Nurse credential from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • A diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of bedside nursing experience, preferably in med/surg or ICU.
  • A strong understanding of disease processes.
  • Comfortable reviewing patient charts and strong understanding of disease processes.
  • Excellent communication skills.
