Role Overview:
As a Lead Project Coordinator, you will be an integral part of our Delivery and Alignment organization. Depending on your specific role, you may engage with either the Agile Delivery team or the PMO.
In the Agile Delivery team, you will collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to ensure the iterative provision of high-quality solutions that adapt to our customers' changing needs and optimize business value. Agile Project Coordinators are responsible for leading, organizing, and inspiring Agile teams to achieve peak performance, delivering value consistently through incremental release cycles.
In the PMO, you will guide cross-functional teams in the execution and delivery of projects and programs utilizing various methodologies, including Agile, Hybrid, or Waterfall, to meet the evolving demands of our clientele and enhance business value.
Key Responsibilities:
- This position allows for remote work; however, occasional planned travel may be necessary.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects using established methodologies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, managing expectations, and addressing any obstacles to project progress.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies for cross-functional teams as required.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders using tools such as roadmaps, release plans, and project schedules.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies, applying best practices to maintain momentum and assist teams in delivering incremental value.
- Organize meetings and produce detailed minutes.
- Create clear and concise deliverables, including schedules, correspondence, risk assessments, and implementation plans.
- Transition processes to operational teams upon project completion.
- Coordinate and manage complex projects, engaging multiple cross-functional teams simultaneously.
- Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Utilize critical thinking and professional judgment to adapt standard methodologies as necessary.
- Guide and support team members in implementing best practices and addressing lessons learned.
- Collaborate with management to ensure adequate staffing levels and skills for projects.
- Monitor team capacity and workload to prevent overcommitment.
- Establish and oversee metrics to ensure the success of strategic objectives and monitor the overall health of programs and projects.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, fostering innovation, collaboration, and accountability among teams.
- Manage project budgets and report to key stakeholders as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and informative project information in a central repository.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Act as a role model, mentoring and coaching junior members on project management and Agile best practices.
- Lead initiatives to enhance processes within the department and collaborate cross-functionally to improve related processes.
- Participate actively in team-building efforts and enhance employee engagement.
- Engage in team meetings and exemplify our core values.
Essential Competencies:
- Facilitation Skills: Organize and conduct workshops, meetings, and presentations tailored to specific objectives.
- Impact Assessment: Understand the implications of changes on the organization and its applications.
- Risk Management: Conduct risk planning, identification, analysis, and response planning.
- Schedule Management: Ensure timely project completion through effective management techniques.
- Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate project progress, risks, and changes to stakeholders.
- Effective Communication: Conduct workshops and meetings that meet project objectives and team needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in project management.
- Experience presenting to leadership.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or Lean.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience managing IT projects.
- 7+ years of experience in process evaluation and improvement.
- PMP Certification.
- Agile Certification related to Agile Project Management.
- Familiarity with project management tools.
- Experience in the financial sector.
