We are seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused individual to join our team as a Patient Service Specialist at NovaCare Rehabilitation. As a key member of our front desk team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive exceptional care and service from the moment they arrive at our center.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Registration and Scheduling: Register new patients, schedule appointments, and provide information about what to expect during their visit.
- Communication and Coordination: Regularly communicate with patients, providers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Insurance and Billing: Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.
- Patient Support and Education: Provide patients with pertinent information about their next appointment and respond to requests for information.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: 1 year of front desk experience and/or insurance verification experience preferred.
- Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout a work day/shift.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to type (including 10-key) throughout a work day/shift.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift up to 25lbs, safely, from ground to waist using proper body mechanics.
- Visual and Auditory Abilities: Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction. Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
