We are currently looking for a Veterinary Care Associate I to join our Insourcing Solutions team.
As a Veterinary Care Associate I, your role will involve caring for our research animals to ensure their well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing adequate food and hydration.
- Maintaining cleanliness of animal enclosures.
- Conducting and documenting daily health assessments of animals.
- Handling and restraining animals for medical procedures.
- Learning and implementing quality assurance protocols.
- Assessing new arrivals and assisting them in acclimatization.
- Engaging in the breeding processes of various animal species.
Qualifications:
The following are the minimum qualifications for the Veterinary Care Associate I position:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least six months of experience with animals (e.g., dog walking, pet sitting, kennel work, veterinary assistance, farm work, 4-H involvement, pet retail).
- Must achieve the ALAT (Assistant Lab Animal Technician) Certification within 1-2 years of eligibility.
The compensation for this role ranges from $20 to $22 per hour, depending on various factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential availability required on weekends and holidays.
