Surgical Professor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Surgical Professor in the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota.
About the PositionThis is a full-time, tenure-track position that will involve teaching, research, and clinical service. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in the teaching, research, and clinical care in the surgery service of the Veterinary Medical Center (VMC). This will include teaching fourth-year students, interns, and residents assigned to clinical rotations, as well as participating in ongoing clinical research programs.
Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students, interns, and residents in the DVM curriculum
- Participate in clinical teaching laboratories and provide surgical consultations to faculty, residents, interns, and community veterinarians
- Conduct research and publish papers in reputable journals
- Participate in clinical research programs and provide timely written follow-up communication to referring veterinarians
- Participate in after-hours services and provide continuing education to practicing veterinarians
The successful candidate must have a DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree, successful completion of a small animal surgery residency with eligibility for board certification, and strong letters of reference. Board certification by the American or European College of Veterinary Surgery is preferred.
