Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals to assess, evaluate, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment strategies, ensuring the objectives of the Med Surg and/or ICU nursing departments are met.

Your role is pivotal within the assigned team, and you will be accountable for achieving favorable patient and departmental outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain overall accountability for assigned patients.
- Understand and manage patients with critical illnesses and ventilator support if in the ICU.

- Respond to Code Blue situations within the facility, initiating protocols, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring.

- Facilitate the efficient flow of patients, including screening, exam preparation, providing general nursing care, and coordinating testing and admissions.

- Educate patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Maintain and review patient records, including documenting tests and examination results.
- Administer medications as per physician orders.
- Conduct daily checks of patient rooms for necessary supplies.
- Respond to and refer incoming calls, which may include phone triage when necessary.


Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must hold a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of practice and/or possess an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of full-time equivalent Acute Care RN experience in the designated area is required.
