Job Responsibilities and QualificationsThe Float Pool Registered Nurse plays a vital role in collaborating with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and coordinate treatment strategies, ensuring optimal outcomes in both Med Surg and ICU settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accountability for the care of assigned patients.
- Provide care for critically ill patients and manage ventilator support in the ICU.
- Facilitate patient flow, including screening and preparation for examinations.
- Educate patients and families on medications and treatment plans.
- Document and review patient records, including test results.
- Administer medications as per physician directives.
- Ensure daily checks of supply levels in patient rooms.
- Handle incoming calls and provide triage when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; an Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the practicing state or a Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross.
- A minimum of two years of full-time equivalent experience in Acute Care nursing.
