POSITION SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in acute or primary care settings delivers comprehensive care, which includes conducting thorough history and physical examinations, managing daily patient rounds or appointments, prescribing medications and laboratory tests, planning for discharge or home care, and educating patients and their families.
This role encompasses responsibilities as an expert practitioner, change agent, consultant, educator, and liaison.EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Must possess a current RN license in New York State; relevant nursing experience is required. Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program is essential, with a Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. National certification as a Nurse Practitioner or active pursuit of certification within one year is necessary.
Ongoing participation in orientation and continuing education is expected to maintain and enhance expertise.SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in examination equipment relevant to the practice area, advanced skills in health history collection and physical assessment, capability in evaluating laboratory results, EKG and CXR interpretation, and the ability to assess, plan, and implement care for specific patients and families in collaboration with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, as per protocols established with supervising physicians.

Clinical setting – Exposure Class I – routine or potential exposure to blood, body fluids, excretions, or secretions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium work – must be capable of lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.

Engagement with all services, employees, medical staff, patients, visitors, vendors, and various regulatory and professional agencies.

Pay Range:
$50.48-$60.10 based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be compensated within the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
