Property Condition Assessment Officer - Development Division

The City of Monroe, Ohio is inviting applications for the role of Property Condition Assessment Officer. This position entails the enforcement of local regulations and statutes pertaining to property upkeep and zoning compliance. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting proactive investigations into property maintenance issues.
  • Issuing corrective notices and citations as necessary.
  • Collaborating with the Mayor's Court on enforcement actions.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in process development and/or execution, demonstrate proficiency in meticulous documentation, and be adept at working autonomously.

The Property Condition Assessment Officer will engage with the community and is expected to deliver outstanding customer service while exhibiting the appropriate level of firmness, tact, and courtesy in the execution of their responsibilities.


Qualifications:

Completion of secondary education or its equivalent (high school diploma or GED) is required, along with a minimum of two (2) years of pertinent experience in Zoning Administration, Code Enforcement, Property Maintenance, or Construction. Combinations of education, experience, and training that provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will also be considered.

A valid driver's license is mandatory, and candidates must remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.


Compensation:
The hourly wage is $33.57. The City of Monroe provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, in addition to vacation, sick leave, personal days, and holiday time.
