Job Description:
This position is responsible for the direct oversight of the Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation, Crisis Intervention, Child Care, and Training units, along with providing technical supervision to lower-level supervisors managing income maintenance sub-programs on a daily basis. The income maintenance programs include Food Stamps, Aid to Families with Dependent Children, Medicaid, Long-Term Care, and Low Income Energy Assistance. Responsibilities also encompass reviewing work, evaluating staff performance, and conducting personnel functions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Candidates should demonstrate:
- A thorough understanding of the needs and challenges faced by disadvantaged populations.
- Extensive knowledge of public assistance manuals and income maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with community programs and services that may impact clients.
- Strong supervisory and management skills.
- Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of four years of experience in income maintenance programs, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Preference may be given to candidates with bilingual skills and/or experience in the Department of Social Services (DSS).
