Job Summary

The Certified Medication Aide plays a vital role in delivering quality care to patients during the admission and readmission process at Life Care Centers of America. This position requires a strong understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in post-acute care facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare, administer, store, and document medications as per facility protocols and physician orders.
  • Assist in developing and implementing procedures to assess potential medication errors and prevent them.
  • Report medication errors immediately and ensure that no medication is administered without a written, signed, and dated order from an attending physician.
  • Chart patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform CNA functions as directed by supervisor and provide excellent customer service to patients.
  • Assist in the evacuation of patients and demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a State-approved CNA program.
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State and maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation and maintain current during employment.
  • Completed a State-approved program and exam for Certified Medication Aide.
Working Conditions

The Certified Medication Aide works in a fast-paced post-acute care facility environment, requiring the ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment. The position involves sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours.
