Job Summary:

Barnes & Noble Education, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-time Supervisor in the General Merchandise department. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service to customers, responding to their needs and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including department and store operations, to effectively recommend products to customers.
  • Ensure the sales floor is visually appealing and merchandise is properly displayed and maintained.
  • Process sales transactions, handle customer returns and exchanges, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with visual merchandising, including creating displays and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the management team to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive store environment.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a retail setting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
