As a Surgical Technician at Christus Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room suite. Your expertise will be essential in preparing patients for surgery, transporting them to and from the OR, and positioning them according to the type of procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a sterile field, passing instruments and sutures to the physician as needed.
- Assist the physician during surgical procedures, demonstrating clinical expertise in the use and care of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Maintain proper traffic control, adhere to OR sanitation policies and procedures, and ensure the decontamination, processing, and sterilization of all instruments and supplies.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to plan and execute procedures, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide exceptional patient care, adapting assessment, treatment, and care methods to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a Surgical Technology program required.
- 2 or more years of experience preferred.
- BLS certification required.
- Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
