Job Responsibilities:

As a Senior Commercial Risk Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating new and renewal accounts, authorizing policy modifications, managing your workload, and overseeing written business until binding in accordance with company standards and established protocols.

You will lead a team dedicated to production and underwriting, ensuring exceptional service delivery to agents and clients.

Key Duties:
  • Achieve or surpass production targets set by management.
  • Assess new and renewal accounts for underwriting.
  • Oversee a team, ensuring effective communication of relevant information.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients.
  • Promote all company offerings to clients.
  • Maintain timely and accurate communication with producers regarding submissions and decisions.
  • Evaluate and approve endorsement requests in line with internal and company policies.
  • Monitor accounts for adherence to company guidelines.
  • Track production metrics, hit ratios, and renewal retention to mitigate risk and forecast success.
  • Handle policy servicing requests efficiently.
  • Review inspection reports and ensure compliance with binding conditions.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and comply with audit standards.
  • Ensure all necessary licenses are current.

Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications:
  • A college degree or relevant insurance designation is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in account production and marketing.
  • Licensure in relevant insurance areas is mandatory.
  • Ability to comprehend and analyze insurance policy components.
  • Understanding of client needs and associated risk profiles.
  • Awareness of emerging trends in the insurance sector.
  • Proficiency in commercial multi-line underwriting and rating.
  • Familiarity with company software, including Windows and various underwriting tools.
  • Capability to cultivate and maintain strong agency relationships.
  • Provide guidance to underwriting support personnel.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment in decision-making.
  • Exhibit leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Stay updated on industry developments.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client engagement.
  • Ability to work extended hours when required.
