The Lead Facilities Specialist at GE Aviation is responsible for developing and implementing practical and innovative solutions to meet business objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of facilities management and the ability to execute business objectives with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning: Plan and execute facility improvement projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Maintenance Management: Develop and implement an effective preventative maintenance program, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining equipment and services to acceptable quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Forecast and manage the Facilities department budget, monitoring expenses throughout the year to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Team Supervision: Supervise a team of hourly maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate facilities initiatives with the Operations team to support production, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Contract Management: Negotiate, maintain, and review contracts for third-party contractors, cleaners, waste removal, vending, recycling, security providers, and other services.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to controls technicians for out-of-the-ordinary electronics problems.
- Machine Modifications: Work with cross-functional teams to perform machine modifications, make control logic changes, and provide updated training and documentation as required.
- Leadership and Support: Work directly with the Lead Maintenance Specialist, filling in or replacing during absences, and providing leadership and support to the team as needed.
- Education: Associate's Degree or High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in electro-hydraulic machinery, major machine run-offs/installations, and maintenance repairs.
- Skills: Proficiency with control software and PLCs, software programming experience, and strong knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety policy and procedure.
- Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a business-related field (Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain, Management, etc.), Six Sigma training, and leadership ability.
