We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Support Specialist to join our team at the New York City Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support services to families and students in our schools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with school psychologists to provide outreach and support services to families and students.
  • Make home visits and contacts to support families and students.
  • Assume administrative responsibilities as designated by the principal, including planning meetings and scheduling home visits.
  • Retain records related to parent activity.

Requirements

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors and other school-based staff.
  • Ability to efficiently carry out assignments.
  • Knowledge of CSE procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday.

Minimum of 27.5 hours per week if position is funded by the school.

Minimum of 35 hours per week if position is funded by SBST.

Salary

As Per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
