Job Summary:

The Lifestyle Coordinator is a vital member of our team at Maplewood Senior Living, responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing programs that promote the overall well-being of our residents. This role requires a passion for working with seniors, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a positive atmosphere through engaging activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a monthly program calendar that meets the diverse needs and interests of our residents
  • Plan and conduct recreational programs, including outings and events, to enhance the quality of life for our residents
  • Collaborate with the Lifestyle Director and Resident Service Director to ensure seamless communication and coordination
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents, family members, and visitors, ensuring a positive experience for all
  • Assist with maintaining a Staying Connected Binder and completing Staying Connected Forms for all residents
  • Participate in weekly tracking meetings to ensure daily information and observations are utilized
  • Attend monthly All Associate meetings and bi-monthly Regional Lifestyle Coordinator meetings
  • Assist with touring and providing information about MSL therapeutic recreation programs to families of prospective residents
  • Develop and distribute a monthly calendar and newsletter

Requirements:

  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university or satisfactory completion of two years of college, with major work in recreation, occupational therapy, gerontology, or a related field
  • Two years of full-time experience in the recreation field with an adult population
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Basic typing skills and computer knowledge (familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Publisher, and creative software)
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record (may be required to take a driving test)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be capable of using up to 50 pounds occasionally while lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, climb stairs and/or stepladders, push wheelchairs, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch, reach with hands and arms, balance, lift, and perform medium to maximum transfer assists with residents
