Certification Requirements:
  • BLS: Basic Life Support certification is mandatory, with a front and signed back.
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is essential for roles in ICU, ER, PCU, Cath Lab, PACU, Tele, and for Respiratory Therapists.
  • PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is required for PICU, ER, and PACU.
  • NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure certification is necessary for NICU, Nursery, Antepartum, PostPartum, and Labor & Delivery units.
  • Chemo Certification: Required for Oncology.
  • TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course certification is necessary for ER and preferred for ICU.
  • EFM: Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification is required for Labor & Delivery, Mother-Baby/Post Partum, and Nursery.
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for ED, Cath Lab, ICU, CV Surgery (not CVOR), MS/Tele, Neurology, and Techs (Cath Lab and Imaging).
  • Color Blind Exam: Must be completed within one year of employment.
  • Tech Certification: National certification is required for Respiratory Therapists with a WA RT License.
  • State License Verification: Required within 30 days of employment for services performed.
Job Overview:
  • Position: Surgical Technologist specializing in cardiac procedures.
  • Case Types: Elective cases for patients aged 2 years and older, non-elective pediatric transfers to children's facilities; Joint (hips & knees) and Neuro Center; CV program, Hybrid.
  • Special Procedures: Includes Ortho, Neuro, General, CV, Vascular, ENT, Eyes, Robotics, Gyn, GU, and Plastics.
  • Operating Rooms: 10 ORs with a daily case load of 35-45.
  • Epic Experience: Preferred but not mandatory.
  • First-Time Technologists: Welcomed.
Position Requirements:
  • Experience: Strong cardiac scrub experience is required, along with experience in other surgical specialties.
  • Credentials: CVOR Tech certification is mandatory, with cardiac scrub training in both the first and second scrub roles. WA Surgical Technician certification is also required.
  • BLS and ACLS: Both certifications are required.
  • On-Call Requirement: Yes, cardiac call is required, with a minimum of 7 shifts per month.
  • Floating: Clinicians may float within their scope to meet facility needs, but rarely to sister facilities.
  • Local Candidates: Accepted.
  • Pending Licenses: WA Surgical Technician certification is required.
  • RTO Restrictions: To be determined.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week.
Schedule Information:
  • Shift: 4x10 Variable Days with start times of 0600 or 0645, subject to change.
  • Weekend Availability: Must be open to working weekends.
Unit Specific Information:
  • Special Procedures: Includes Ortho, Neuro, General, CV, Vascular, ENT, Eyes, Robotics, Gyn, GU, and Plastics.
  • Operating Rooms: 10 ORs with a daily case load of 35-45.
  • Parking: Free parking available.
