Position Overview

The Cardiovascular Operating Room Technologist plays a critical role in the surgical team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care during cardiac procedures. This position requires specialized training and experience in cardiovascular surgery, as well as a commitment to excellence in patient outcomes.

Certification Requirements
  • BLS: Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.
  • ACLS: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is essential for roles in critical care settings.
  • PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is required for pediatric intensive care.
  • NRP: Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is necessary for neonatal care units.
  • Chemo Certification: Required for oncology-related procedures.
  • TNCC: Trauma Nursing Core Course certification is preferred for emergency room roles.
  • EFM: Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification is required for labor and delivery units.
  • NIH Stroke Certification: Required for various critical care settings.
  • Color Blind Exam: Must be completed within one year of employment.
  • Tech Certification: National certification is required for respiratory therapists.
  • State License Verification: Required within 30 days of employment.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in a variety of surgical cases, including elective and non-elective procedures.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Significant experience in cardiac surgery is required, along with experience in other surgical specialties.
  • Credentials: CVOR Technologist certification is mandatory, along with a valid state surgical technician certification.
  • On-call Requirements: Must be available for on-call shifts, with a minimum of 7 shifts per month.
  • Floating Requirements: Flexibility to float within the scope of practice as needed.
  • Local Candidates: Local candidates are encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule
  • Shift: 4x10 variable days, with start times varying between 0600 and 0645.
  • Weekend Availability: Must be open to weekend shifts as required.
