Mobility Technician II

As a Mobility Tech II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support. You will work collaboratively with our nursing and patient care services staff to ensure the safe and efficient transfer of patients, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment to minimize injury risks.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic nursing care needs to assigned patients, making visual observations and reporting abnormalities in accordance with established nursing procedures and policies.
- Use the Multidisciplinary Plan of Care as a guide for individualized patient care and teaching, as directed by the R.N.
- Assist with or provide activities of daily living (ADLs), including baths, linen changes, dressing, feeding, providing water, grooming, and hygiene.
- Collect simple specimens and record specimen collection.
- Reinforce pulmonary hygiene, including the use of incentive spirometers and connecting patients to pulse oximeters.
- Provide nourishments and assist RNs in setting up NG feedings, G-tube feedings, or J-tube feedings.
- Administer minor treatments and procedures, such as EKG tests, non-medicated enemas, and non-sterile dressing changes.
- Perform cast care, apply Bucks traction, and use CPM machines and sequential stockings.
- Provide bed exercises, including range of motion and positioning, and assist patients in ambulating when necessary.
- Document care provided, including oral intake, all output, vital signs, weights, and measurements in a concise, accurate, and timely manner.
- Participate in providing emergency procedures and respond to codes and other life-threatening situations as indicated.
- Maintain patient and employee/workplace safety as a basic premise of all tasks performed.
To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to recognize the needs and concerns of members, coworkers, and physicians. You must also be able to maintain positive working relationships and promote customer service to internal and external customers.
