Scope of Work

The RN Nurse Educator Hospice will be responsible for providing educational programs and support to patient care staff and the system. This will include developing and implementing educational programs, facilitating orientation of new employees, and providing in-services and continuing education offerings.

The RN Nurse Educator Hospice will also be responsible for assessing the overall needs of the patient/family and analyzing the assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues. They will ensure that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner and initiate patient discharge planning at time of patient contact.

The RN Nurse Educator Hospice will engage in activities related to the professional role and seek to continually advance knowledge and competence related to nursing practice. They will participate in ongoing improvement activities that contribute to quality patient care.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing - Required
  • Master's Degree Nursing Education or Adult Education - Preferred
  • 2 years of relevant experience Clinical experience related to area of focus - Required
  • Education and program development experience - Preferred
  • Registered Nurse (RN) in State of Michigan - Required upon hire
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support within 90 Days required
  • Specialty Certification within 1 year or Board Cert Nursing Professional Development (BC-NPD) - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center within 1 Year
